I like The X-Files. I like David Duchovny. I like Gillian Anderson. I like Robert Patrick. I like Annabeth Gish. I like cookies and beer and sleeping in. I work in a bank. It's not very exciting. I'm married. I have no children... yet. I live in Seattle but I'm from Canada. I started watching the show midway through season two. I flew to Seattle to see Fight The Future with my boyfriend on opening night. I want a dog. Badly. My favourite movies are Star Wars, Silence Of The Lambs, Chasing Amy and Fight The Future. My favourite shows are Lost, Alias, 24, Two And A Half Men, Firefly and, oh yeah... The X-Files. I get along with most people as long as
they don't tell me I'm stupid or hurt those I love... or those I like a lot. Did I mention I'd like a dog? My favourite food is chicken or rice (or both). My favourite beverage is diet pepsi or Snapple (if I'm feeling wild). I like to read, go to movies, listen to music, sleep, wander and waste time. I like hockey. Lots. I'm Canadian and that's the law. The Ottawa Senators will one day win the Cup... I'm more than a quarter but less than a third of a century old. Good lord. That sounds soooo old. I say "aboot" when I'm drunk and I'm proud of it. This is my website. It was long ago borne of intense boredom and a longing to follow in the footsteps of greater beings than myself. Jealousy makes people do wacky things... like attempt to crack into the then-saturated X-Files website arena. I'm also known as "Lucky" which was my screen name when I posted my random musings at the old Haven, P2K and Webphilia boards. I can sometimes still be heard from at Creative. The name Lucky appeared in the opening credits of This Is Not Happening, by the way, and even though it's been said I'm not the "real Lucky", I still thought it was pretty cool. Anyway, thank you for checking this site out. I congratulate you (and thank you profusely) for reading this far. Cheers.

What about this site?
VERSION 1.0: I started this site in the spring of 2002 when I got the urge to utilize my meager HTML skills. The first incarnation of the 4th Dimension wasn't flashy but I was right proud of the things I had learned to accomplish with a little bit of Frontpage and Photoshop. I was particularly giddy when my image map turned out. :) After a few months updating and creating, I became insanely jealous of those who could do magical things with layers and iframes so I tried my own...
VERSION 2.0: The result - version 2.0. ;) I was pretty pleased with how things turned out... I was able to sneak some javascript in there and really came to enjoy working with layers. The splash was my favourite part of the site, but it didn't really go with the rest of the layout. As well, the site was cumbersome to update and my own scrolling magic got on my nerves. :) I wanted to simplify my life and do something a little fancier.

VERSION 3.0: On a whim, I started messin' around in Photoshop and before I knew what was happening, version 3.0 came to be. I was/am very happy with that design... and I got many wonderful compliments. As one visitor put it... you can't go wrong with Fight The Future pics! As well, I loved the colours and the font and the splash and the bee-dome pic but real life stuff caused very infrequent updates to plague the FTF version.

VERSION 4.0: Despite this unfortunate circumstance, however, the new year brought a *wonderful* surprise. The gracious Steph offered to host The 4th Dimension and so... I simply *had* to come up with a new layout. :) Unfortunately, I quickly grew tired with version 4.0 of 4D. After not long, I didn't like that it was so black. I much preferred the white, light feeling of version 3.0 so I made up my mind to redesign yet again.
VERSION 5.0: I decided that I would focus my site on the character of John Doggett, in part due to the recognition I received from a wonderful Doggett-centered website called the Holy Order of the Doggalypse. Wanting to do the award that the wonderful Lily bestowed upon me justice, I set out to create a whole new look. It was my only Doggett/non-Mulder or Scully theme and I'm still very fond of this design.
VERSION 6.0: I resisted changing but I stumbled onto a wonderful Gillian picture and, as has happened before, I stumbled into a new layout to celebrate my site's one year anniversary on May 26th, 2003. This was as classy as I fear I'm ever going to get and I have received many very wonderful compliments on the design. However, by the time I had finished the redesign, I was tired of it already! Looking back though... I really do love this.

VERSION 7.0: The end of the summer brought the 10th anniversary of The X-Files... and that's as good a reason as any to redesign, right? I don't know what I was thinking when I thunk version 7 up... it didn't really conform to any specific style - especially my style! But it was different! And it's Mulder & Scully. :) This version was particularly well received, especially the goofy splash page with Dancing!Mulder&Scully! But I got bored of it pretty quick.

VERSION 8.0: With a new year (2004) came new inspiration. I felt it time for a Mulder-centered layout. One failed attempt preceded this version (it was very orange) but I settled on muted winter tones and some yumtastic pics of Mulder. I'm quite pleased with it and this layout has replaced version 6 as my favourite. Sadly, real life - computer crash, system wipe, promotions at work - once again got in the way and I threw this up then barely updated it. :(

VERSION 9.0: My disappearance from the online world was long... two years. My wonderful former hostess, Steph moved on and closed down Webphilia. I missed playing in Photoshop and I missed my friends and I missed my site so I came up with version 9 when I found some great pics from Orison and, while it was super angsty, I loved this look. I'm still not sure what interest there is in seeing my site back but here it is to please no one if but myself. :)
VERSION 10.0: I truly did love version 9 because Donnie Pfaster is one of the best villains of all time but my frame was too small and was annoying. Plus, I wanted to try something WITHOUT inline frames. I came up with this neon-ish green and orange scheme and, while the colours are very much outside my standard palette, I kinda like it! And look how much white space I have to work with!! Ten versions of this little site... they've gone by so quickly.

The Fourth Dimension has been hopping since May 26th, 2003 and the site and the Murkybucket domain - registered May 19,2006 - are hosted by ImHosted. All of the graphics you see were created by me using Photoshop CS. The brushes I used were from Vered, Linzee, Thia and me. I borrowed photos from Road Runners and The X-Files DVD Screen Grab Archive. All of the code was done by hand in Notepad but there may be a few scripts that were culled from such wonderful sites as Lissa Explains It All, Dynamic Drive and EchoEcho.com. If you're interested in learning more about web design, those are excellent resources with which to start. I'm an Internet Explorer girl and cannot stand Netscape so this site hasn't been thoroughly tested in Navigator. Apologies. Sort of. ;) I've also tested it in Firefox and it seems fine. I built this site using IE6 but it should work jim-dandy in IE4 or 5. I hope. If you have problems viewing this page, let me know and I'll see what I can do to fix things. :)
Again, I thank you for stopping by and would appreciate any comments or suggestions. drop me a line Finally, I'd like to thank all of the wonderful X-Files fans, artists and webmasters for their inspiration and companionship.
